NCU Researchers Discover Powerful Anti-Oxidants in Local Cinnamon Ginger With Cancer Fighting Properties


Jamaicans suffering from breast and prostate cancer may soon be able to use local cinnamon ginger to help fight the disease.

Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Northern Caribbean University, NCU, Dr. Vincent Wright, says the local cinnamon ginger contains a wide range of therapeutic properties.

Dr. Wright says apart from fighting cancer, cinnamon ginger, has other cleansing properties.

He says this is what has led to a partnership with Zon International Holdings Limited to launch a ginger flavoured tea.

The various properties of this plant are still being explored and developed into products for public consumption.
