President of the Negril Chamber of Commerce, NCC, Richard Wallace is calling on the government to reinvest a portion of funds it generates into the resort town of Negril.
Addressing the NCC’s annual gala and dinner at the Royalton Negril Resort over the weekend, Mr Wallace said that between January and October of this year, Negril earned a little over half a billion US dollars.
In addition, Mr Wallace says Negril is the second largest direct employer of tourism workers in Jamaica at 23-point-9 per cent or just over 12,000 employees.
The NCC president argued that based on these Jamaica Tourist Board statistics, the western resort town deserves priority attention.
