New Court Ruling Temporarily Bars Mobay Pride From Hosting Event In City Centre

Nationwide News understands that the St. James Municipal Corporation has successfully appealed the injunction for judicial review that was granted to LGBTQ lobby group, Mobay Pride.

Mobay Pride had secured the injunction on Monday that would have allowed them to stage their forum this evening.

The attorney’s for the St. James Municipal Corporation had appealed that ruling.

The matter is to be heard in the Supreme Court, in Kingston tomorrow.

According to our sources, Mobay Pride’s public forum on whether Jamaica is ready for same-sex marriage, which was scheduled for this evening, cannot go ahead as planned.
