The Police Service Commission, PSC, has set a February 21 deadline for applications to be submitted for the position of Commissioner of Police.
An advertisement for applications to be submitted for the post was placed in papers over the weekend.
The application says selection for Jamaica’s chief police officer is to be completed by the end of March.
The PSC says applicants don’t have to be serving members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
Former Police Commissioner George Quallo demitted office last month after just nine months in the post.
Deputy Commissioner in Charge of Operations, Clifford Blake is acting in the post.
