New Police Federation Chairman to be Appointed in Days

General Secretary of the Police Federation, Sergeant Cecil McCalla, says a new Chairman should be appointed to lead the Police Federation within a week.

Its current Chairman, Sergeant Raymond Wilson, is to be officially promoted to the rank of Assistant Superintendent tomorrow.

It means he’s no longer be able to represent rank-and-file members of the JCF, who range from Constable to Inspector.

And, Sergeant McCalla says he doesn’t see Sergeant Wilson’s promotion, in the middle of tough wage negotiations, as an attempt at union busting.
