The woman who’s body was found in a pond at the University of the West Indies, Mona campus today, has been identified as fifty-year-old Medical Doctor, Judith Rose Spencer.
Director of Security at the UWI Mona campus, Keith ‘Trinity’ Gardner, says a student discovered the body close to the UWI Chapel at about 7:30 Monday morning. He says a murder investigation is not being initiated.
It’s understood that the woman was dealing with mentally illness recently.
Sources say she attended a function at the Mona Visitor’s Lodge on the UWI Mona campus on the weekend and was acting strangely. It’s understood she wandered away from the Lodge.
While noting that the incident is unfortunate, Mr Gardner dismissed media reports that Dr. Spencer’s body was found with its mouth gagged.
