Norman Gardens By-Election Incident Free

Today’s by-election in Norman Gardens in East Kingston was incident free.

Voters trickled into polling stations across the division with a high of 22 percent at one station.

The People’s National Party, Jacqueline Lewis is the overwhelming favourite to win later this evening. The Jamaica Labour Party’s candidate, Headley Wilson. says he spent the day visiting polling stations in the division.

Ms. Lewis says she believes if elected councillor for the division it will continue a line of successful representatives in the division. She dismissed her opponent’s chances.

Speaking with our news centre today, the JLP candidate, Headley Wilson says he’s active in the division.

Mr. Wilson says if elected councillor, he’ll focus on repairing what he’s describing as the bad roads in the constituency. However, JLP supporters were few.

The head of the East Kingston Police, Superintendent Victor Hamilton, says today’s by-election was incident free.
