The Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston has been transformed into a profitable entity with attractive prospects for an increase in traffic through the facility.
That’s according to the Airport’s President and Chief Executive Officer Audley Deidrick.
He says there’s been an increase in revenue from airport charges between 2003 and 2014.
He says this increase in rates has directly impacted the Airport’s revenues.
According to Mr. Deidrick, 26 million US dollars will be spent on the latest phase of the upgrading work at the facility which is to be completed in 2019.
Meanwhile, Mr. Deidrick says there’s a push to increase the volume of tourists transiting through the Norman Manley International Airport.
The government is seeking to privatize the Airport.
