Some sections of northern parishes have been experiencing inclement weather as a result of a cold front that’s currently in the vicinity of the island.
Duty Forecaster at the Met Office, Lawrence Brown says a cold front to the east of the island is affecting weather conditions, especially in northern parishes.
Mr. Brown says so far, the Met Office have received reports of significant rainfall in Trelawney and St. Ann.
He says the cold front could be a result of the extreme weather currently affecting North America.
Meanwhile, a number of communities across the island are being affected by rising flood waters. The parishes include Trelawny, St. Mary and St. Ann.
Communications and Customers Services Manager at the National Works Agency, NWA, Stephen Shaw spoke with Nationwide News.
Mr .Shaw says St. Mary roads are also now impassable.
This morning, the Police had issued an advisory stating that a section of the Runaway Bay main road in St. Ann in the vicinity of the Police Station was impassable.
However, Mr. Shaw says the road is now passable. He says the water has subsided and debris cleared.
