NSWMA Welcomes Proposed Ban of Single-Use Plastics Bags

Executive Director of the National Solid Waste Management Authority, NSWMA, Audley Gordon, is welcoming the government’s proposal to ban single-use plastic bags in the retail trade.

And, he says the NSWMA is moving to build three garbage transfer stations across the island.

Mr. Gordon says the stations will be used to temporarily store solid waste in order to improve efficiency in the transportation of garbage to disposal sites.

He says the first facility will be built in Trelawny.
