For the first time in the organizations’ history, the National Solid Waste Management Authority’s audited financial reports are up to date.
Local Government Minister, Desmond McKenzie, made the announcement in the House of Representatives this afternoon as part of his Sectoral Debate contribution.
Minister McKenzie praised the organization for its major transformation. He says previously the NSWMA has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. He says before the change of government, corporate governance was non-existent at the authority.
Minister McKenzie also says the transformation of the NSWMA has allowed for the correction of a longstanding injustice where workers left the entity with no ex-gratia payments.
Meanwhile, Minister McKenzie says his administration has invested far more in local government than its predecessor.
