President of the National Water Commission, NWC, Mark Barnett, says the NWC will be leaving road repairs to the experts.
There’ve been several complaints from the public that the NWC does a poor job of fixing the roads that they excavate in order to access their pipes.
Mr. Barnett is admitting that the poor road repairs have damaged their public image. He says the NWC will be funding the repairs, and leaving it to the experts.
Mr. Barnett says the NWC has a regularly funded arrangement with the National Works Agency to repair roads. He says this arrangement has been working well.
Mr. Barnett says the NWC is attempting to roll out a similar programme islandwide alongside the various municipal corporations.
However, he says the arrangement has not yet materialized.
