NWC Workers Take Industrial Action

24

The Ministry of Labour has called an emergency meeting with the management and unions representing workers at the National Water Commission.

Workers continue to take industrial action, in protest at a decision by the NWC management to change their health insurance providers without having consultation with them or their unions.

The Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers, JALGO, is one of the four unions representing the workers.

JALGO says the health dispute is just one of the issues affecting workers.

The General Secretary of JALGO is Helene Davis Whtye.

Mrs. Davis Whyte all parties will meet this afternoon to seek a resolution to the issue.
