Murder accused, Omar Best Collymore, is still at large.
Collymore has not turned himself in to the Police more than 24-hours after he was told to do so immediately. The Police say he’s to be charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Yesterday, the Police published a statement ordering Collymore to report to them.
Up to shortly before news time – law enforcement sources told our news center that he’d not complied with the directive. As a result, the hunt for Collymore has intensified. He’s accused of orchestrating the killing of his wife, Simone Campbell-Collymore, who was gunned down on January 2.
Two other men are in custody in connection with the crime.
It’s understood that a statement has been given to the police alleging Collymore paid $500,000 to contract killers to have his wife murdered.
Collymore, via his Attorney, Christopher Townsend, has denied the allegations. Mr. Collymore is a Jamaican, Barbadian and US national.
Investigators are theorizing that he killed his wife in pursuit of insurance money.
Collymore was reportedly listed as a beneficiary on Simone’s life insurance plan. He has two children with Simone. His Attorney, Christopher Townsend, this afternoon declined to comment on the issue.
Yesterday, Mr. Townsend, said Collymore advised the Police he’d have reported to them before the day expired.
