Ombudsman to Speak with Vaz

Political Ombudsman Donna Parchment Brown says she intends to speak with Central Westmoreland MP, Dwayne Vaz, before determining if any action will be necessary following his comments and choice of song at last Thursday’s PNP mass rally in Mount Salem, St. James.

Mr. Vaz has been condemned for appearing to incite comrades to retaliate against JLP supporters who were accused of setting fire to the office of the PNP Councillor for the Granville Division, Michael Troupe.

Mr. Vaz has since apologized for the comments.

Mrs. Parchment Brown says she has received correspondence from Mr. Vaz.
