Opposition Leaders Wants Nat’l Discussion Around Obeah, Other Controversial Religious Practices


Opposition Leader Dr Peter Phillips, is calling for a national discussion on matters relating to obeah and other controversial religious practices.

His comments come as there’s been public outrage over proposals by Justice Minister Delroy Chuck, to repeal the obeah legislation.

Dr Phillips says the government should be careful of legislating matters relating to people’s personal choices.

He says people should have freedom to practice their religion.

Dr Phillips says there are several new religions, including so called Indian astrologers.

He was speaking during his weekly Facebook video series dubbed ‘Fridays with Peter’.
