Opposition to Bring Prime Minister before Standing Orders Committee

The Leader of Opposition Business in the House of Representatives, Phillip Paulwell, says he’ll be moving a motion to bring Prime Minister Andrew Holness before the Standing Orders Committee.

Mr. Paulwell says this is in relation to the Prime Minister changing a decision at last week’s sitting of the House of Representatives to delay approval of Senate amendments to the National Identification System, NIDS, Bill.

Mr. Paulwell says the motion will be taken at the next sitting of the House of Representatives.

Phillip Paulwell was speaking during today’s sitting of the Lower House.

The NIDS legislation was passed last week unopposed after PNP members of the Lower House walked out of the sitting.
