Opposition Urging Govt to Clarify Israel-Palestine Position

Opposition Spokesman on Foreign Affairs, Dr. Morais Guy, is urging Cabinet to quickly review the findings of the Bruce Golding-led Caricom review commission.

The report was submitted to Cabinet a few weeks ago.

Dr. Guy was making his contribution this afternoon to the 2017/18 Sectoral Debate.

He also urged the government to clarify its stance on Palestine following a recent trip by Prime Minister Andrew Holness to Israel.

Speaking on Nationwide Radio earlier this year, Foreign Affairs Minister, Senator Kamina Johnson Smith, said the government is committed to the two-state solution to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.

A “two-state solution” to the decades-old conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is the declared goal of their leaders and the international community.
