Immediate past General Secretary of the People’s National Party, Paul Burke, is strongly refuting claims by MP for South East St. Ann, Lisa Hanna, that the party’s leadership and secretariat ignored attempts she made to get them to intervene to quell tensions in her constituency.
Mr. Burke says the party made several interventions to resolve issues there.
He says at a meeting of the PNP’s Executive in February last year, Ms. Hanna said she needed no help in the constituency.
Ms. Hanna last week claimed that her attempts were ignored. She made the claim in an interview on Cliff Hughes Online.
However, Mr. Burke says PNP President, Portia Simpson Miller, also made interventions to resolve matters that have been bedevilling the party’s organisation in South East St. Ann.
