Politician and businessman, Peter Sangster, who’s charged with forging the signature of former Prime Minister, Portia Simpson-Miller returns to court today.
He’s to appear in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court.
Sangster who is the Managing director of Jamus Communications Limited has been charged with uttering forged documents, forgery and obtaining money by false pretense.
Allegations are that between 2011 and 2013, Sangster solicited and obtained over US-6-hundred thousand dollars from the chairman of the company.
He reportedly promised to get a waiver for funds owed by the company to the Universal Service Fund, USF.
Sangster is accused of forging a document purporting to be the waiver.
A report was made to the police who launched an investigation into the matter.
Sangster was subsequently arrested and charged on March, 21. The 47-year old is out on $1-million bail.
