Pharmacy Techs Angry at SERHA

The Southern Regional Health Authority, SERHA, has issued a directive for the immediate suspension of all transfers involving pharmacy technicians assigned to the Kingston and St. Andrew Health Services.

The transfer ban will be reviewed after a meeting next week between SERHA and the National Workers Union, which represents the technicians.

NWU Vice President, Arthur Grant, says technicians are aggrieved about aspects of the transfer policy.

Mr. Grant says he’s also concerned about the impact of transfers on the workers’ incentives package.
