Prime Minister, Portia Simpson Miller, is strongly condemning the killing of four people in Hayes, Clarendon on Wednesday night, describing it as an ‘act of terror’.
Mrs. Simpson Miller says recurring images of mothers crying for the lives of their children who’re brutally murdered break the spirit and stride of the nation.
The Prime Minister says the entire nation has a role to play to bring these ‘acts of terror to an end’.
She says the killing was a ‘dastardly act’, robbing the country of its best and most promising resource.
Mrs. Simpson Miller’s comments were in a statement from the governing People’s National Party.
A statement was also sent from the Office of the Prime Minister with similar sentiments.
The PNP is also condemning the brutal murder of the three teenage boys and a 35-year-old man who were killed — reportedly execution style.
Mrs. Simpson Miller has added her call for community members to help investigators by telling all they know so the perpetrators can be brought to justice.
Those killed have been identified as Raymond Givans and Ricardo Briscoe — who were both 14 — as well as 15-year-old Alex Turner, and 35-year-old Marquis Hamilton.
The killings have drawn strong, widespread condemnation.
