Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says she will not call the General Election until she’s touched by her master.
The executive of the governing People’s National Party is to meet this evening and the agenda will be dominated by a discussion on the date for the next General Elections.
Some sources say the PNP is likely to host a mass rally either later this week or next Sunday at which time the Prime Minister will announce the election date.
It’s understood that some close allies of the Prime Minister want the elections delayed until the new year.
But Finance Minister, Dr. Peter Phillips, who’s also the PNP’s National Campaign Director, is said to be among those who are insisting that it would be unwise for the elections to wait until next year.
Addressing a PNP meeting in Portmore, St. Catherine last night, the Prime Minister suggested that she’ll take counsel from a supreme source.
Despite claims from the Opposition that her party is trailing in the polls, a fired up Simpson Miller told Comrades that victory for the PNP is assured.
