The governing Peoples National Party, PNP, is accusing the Opposition Jamaica Labour Party, JLP, of being afraid of the truth behind the Tivoli operation.
In a statement today, party chairman, Robert Pickersgill, says he’s calling out the JLP on their ‘bluff’.
He says the JLP is continuing their pattern of denial and obfuscation regarding their handling of the extradition of Christopher ‘Dudus’ Coke.
Mr. Pickersgill is pointing out the events that led up to the security forces operation, including the then-government’s contracting of law firm Manatt, Phelps and Phillips, which he says was done to frustrate Coke’s arrest.
He’s inviting members of the JLP to offer their opinions by way of sworn testimonies at the Commission.
This he says, will display sincere integrity by assisting, rather than seeking to undermine the process of discovering the truth.
