The Opposition People’s National Party is welcoming the announcement of the date for the local government election.
In a statement, PNP President Portia Simpson-Miller says the party will be on the ground speaking to the people about its track record in Local Government.
At a press briefing at the party’s Old Hope Road headquarters this afternoon, the Mayor of Kingston, Angela Brown Burke described the Kingston and St Andrew Corporation as the coveted prize.
And the PNP’s Campaign Manager, Noel Arscott, says he expects to reap great results at the polls based on the work done by the party.
Meanwhile…outgoing PNP General Secretary, Paul Burke, says the party is financially ready.
He says the PNP will be doing the work on the ground.
