Police, Gunman Hospitalized Following Shooting Incident


A Policeman and a gunman are in hospital this afternoon nursing gunshot wounds following a shooting incident in Papine, St. Andrew.

Reports are that the off-duty Policeman was onboard a JUTC bus this morning when he was attacked by a group of gunmen.

The Policeman returned the fire and one of the gunmen was shot.

The other assailants fled through the Papine Market.

Head of the St. Andrew Central Police, Senior Superintendent Fitz Bailey told our news center a short while ago that the Policeman is in stable condition.

SSP Bailey says injuries to the Policeman and gunman do not appear to be life threatening.
