Police Commissioner, Major General Antony Anderson, says the decision to construct a police headquarters in Downtown Kingston will help to reduce crime in the capital city.

Commissioner Anderson says the police will be more effective if they are closer to the source of the problem.

Commissioner Anderson says the police presence will attract more investment for the communities.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Anderson says there are a number of areas in the police force that still need improvement.

Commissioner Anderson says the expansion of the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch, P-STEB, is one of a number of improvements the police are considering.
