Police investigators are intensifying their investigation into the murder of well known Corporate Area businessman and boxing trainer, Chris Brown.
Mr. Brown was one of the owners of the events promotions company, Jamaica Genesis Entertainment. He was also a trainer of well known Jamaican boxer, Sakima Mullings. Mr. Brown was shot and killed just after 5:00 this morning. He was murdered at the Fit Farm gym on Braemar Avenue in St. Andrew. He was shot approximately 15 times.
Brown was approached by armed men while he sat on the steps of the gym. The men opened gunfire killing him on the spot.
Senior Police sources say at the time of his death, Mr. Brown was under investigation. He was being investigated in relation to the suspected contract killing last year of well known Clarendon businessman and Sports Administrator, Brandon Murray.
Mr. Murray was gunned down last year at the Mayfair Hotel in St. Andrew. A man is in custody in connection with Mr. Murray’s killing. A former member of the Jamaica Defence Force, JDF, is still being sought for questioning in connection with the Murray murder.
Several police sources say Brown was also under investigation in connection with the suspected contract killing of a banker in Mona, St. Andrew last year.
