Police Release Majority of Men Held Following West Kgn Gunfight

The Police say they’ve processed and released most of the men detained last night following an intense gun battle in sections of Western Kingston.

Head of the West Kingston police, Superintendent Howard Chambers, says none of the forty men detained has been charged.

Reports are that shortly after 8 last evening, members of rival gangs in Denham Town and Tivoli Gardens engaged in an intense gun fight.

The shooting continued until well after midnight.

Police were trapped in the area following an attempt to separate the rival gangs.

Superintendent Chambers says the area remains tense.
