Police Seize 145 Rounds of Ammunition In St. Catherine


A joint police military team seized 145 rounds of ammunition during an operation in St. Catherine, this morning.

During the five hour long operation, starting at about 4:30 this morning, the security forces also seized a ballistics vest and a smoke grenade.

Two pounds of marijuana and two small packages resembling cocaine were also seized.

The security forces also seized a television, a laptop computer, a tablet computer and clothes.

Other household appliances were found in two makeshift huts in a section of the parish called Dagger Bay.

According to reports, the operation was targeting players in the guns for drugs trade between Jamaica and Haiti.

The two make shift huts were found in a swamp.

They were equipped with electricity, solar panels and running water.

Following the seizure the security forces destroyed the huts.

Investigations are on-going.
