Police to Charge Colleymore with Wife’s Murder

Criminal charges are to be laid in the coming days on murder accused, Omar Best Collymore.

Collymore is to face one more round of questioning by the Police before he’s charged. He was arrested at a guest house in St. Elizabeth last night.

On Tuesday, the Police revealed that Collymore is a wanted man. He’s to be charged with two counts of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Meantime, Corporate Area attorney, Christopher Townsend, says he’s no longer representing Collymore.

On Tuesday, Mr. Townsend said he had discussions with Collymore and arrangements were made for Collymore to report to the Police that same day. But it’s understood that Collymore violated the agreement.

Mr. Townsend told our news center today that he’s no longer representing Collymore. Collymore is accused of hiring contract killers to kill his wife, Simone Campbell-Collymore. Mrs. Campbell-Collymore was shot and killed on January 2. She was killed shortly after she boarded a taxi. The taxi driver was also murdered during the incident.

Two men who’re believed to be Collymore’s co-conspirators are in custody in connection with the crime. Statements have been given to the police alleging that Collymore paid $500,000 to contract killers to have his wife murdered.

Investigators are theorizing that he killed his wife in pursuit of life insurance proceeds. Collymore has two children with Simone.
