The Jamaica Constabulary Force has been dealt a major blow after losing two of its members between last night and this morning.
In the first incident, a Constable, Zavion DaCosta of Central Way, Silverstone in Portmore, St. Catherine was found dead at his home with gunshot wounds on Wednesday night.
Reports are that around 10:15pm, residents heard a barrage of explosions coming from the home of the Constable and immediately summoned the Police.
On arrival, the lawmen found several bullet holes in the door to the kitchen of the house.
Constable DaCosta was found in a sitting position on the bathroom floor, in a pool of blood.
He was based at the Portmore Police Station.
Investigators say they are uncertain about the circumstances surrounding his death.
And in the second incident around 5am, Constable Garnet Taylor was found unresponsive at the back of the Vineyard Town Police Station in Kingston.
Head of the Kingston East division, Superintendent Arthur Brown, says the Constable was based at the Hunts Bay Police Station.
