Prime Minister Promises to Pull Out all Stops to Keep St James Safe

Prime Minister Andrew Holness is reassuring residents of St James that the government will be using all measures within the law with respect to human rights to ensure that the parish remains safe.

His comment comes ahead of the expiration of the State of Public Emergency in the parish on January 31.

The SOE expired in the St Catherine North Police Division on January 2, while the Corporate Area measure ended on Monday.

Meanwhile, National Security Minister Dr Horace Chang says contingencies will be put in place after the measure expires.

Dr Chang says efforts will be made to maintain the gains without the SOE.
