Prime Minister, Andrew Holness is appealing to the international community to invest in climate resilience.
The issue has again been brought into sharp focus following devastating floods in Montego Bay last week.
The Prime Minister says Caribbean islands are the first to suffer from the effects of climate change. He says this is the biggest issue in the region at this time.
Mr. Holness says it’s better for donors to invest in climate resilience than seek to give aid after the damage.
Prime Minister was speaking at the JLP’s 74th annual conference at the National arena in Kingston yesterday.
