Prison Warder on Murder Charge Returns to Court Today

A prison warder attached to the St Catherine District Prison, Dwayne Poyser, charged with attempted murder, returns to the St Catherine Parish Court today.

Poyser is also facing charges of assault occasioning bodily harm and disobeying a command from a Constable.

Poyser, who’s from Eltham Park in Spanish Town, is also charged with use of fraudulent license disc, fraudulent license plates and operating contrary to the terms of his driver’s licenses.

The police allege that on December 3, 2017, at about 4 pm, a team was on traffic duty along Burke Road, Spanish Town when a car being driven by Poyser was signalled to stop.

A Woman Constable put her hand through the car window to collect the driver’s documents.

Poyser allegedly closed the window which trapped her hand inside the car and then sped off dragging her along the road for several meters.

The Woman Constable reportedly received injuries to her body and was admitted to hospital.
