Protect Society from Health Impact of Ganja Decriminalization – Tufton

Health Minister, Dr. Christopher Tufton, says the Dangerous Drugs Act which led to the decriminalization of marijuana needs to be comprehensively reviewed to minimize the health impact that ganja is having on Jamaicans and the health sector.

Dr. Tufton made the call today while making his contribution to the Sectoral Debates in Parliament this afternoon.

Dr. Tufton says the previous administration failed to put in place measures to minimize the effects that ganja decriminalization have on Jamaicans.

The Health Minister says the National Council on Drug Abuse has recorded a massive increase in ganja abuse among adolescents since it was decriminalized last year.
