Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, PSOJ CEO, Dennis Chung, says the Public Services Commission’s new requirement for civil servants to make statutory declarations before being considered for promotion is logical.
The Jamaica Civil Service Association, JCSA has expressed concern about the move.
The JCSA has argued that the requirement is unprecedented and should not be mandatory for persons who are appointed to the civil service. But Mr. Chung says the concerns from the JCSA may be misplaced.
Mr. Chung says a culture where declarations are frequently made must be encouraged in the civil service.
