PSOJ President Renews Concerns About Devaluation Of Local Currency

President of the Private Sector Organization of Jamaica, Howard Mitchell, is again expressing concern about the Jamaican dollar.

Earlier this year, Mr Mitchell called on the Central Bank to peg the local currency to the US dollar. Mr. Mitchell says devaluation has hurt the economy. However, he says he’s confident based on discussions with the Central Bank, that they are seeking to address the issue.

He also says bringing crime under control would result in considerable improvements in the Jamaican economy.
