Reggae Girlz striker, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, is the leading goal scorer in Jamaica national team history.
Shaw scored five of Jamaica’s seven goals against the US Virgin Islands to put the 22-year old on 40 national team goals.
That’s ahead of the previous record holder Luton Shelton, who scored 35 goals for the Reggae Boyz.
At age 22, Shaw is also the youngest woman to score 40-goals in CONCACAF.
Her team-mate Havana Solaun, says having Shaw as a striker makes her job as a midfielder easy.
Reggae Girlz assistant coach, Lorne Donaldson, says national team striker, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, has the potential to emulate some of the greats of the sport.
Meanwhile, Jamaica has advanced to the final qualification round for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
They’ll face the likes of world number 1 and World Cup Winners, the United States.
They’ll also face off against other early qualifiers, Canada and Mexico.
Midfielder, Havana Solaun says the team is happy with the results moving forward.
