Reggae Girlz Now Paid In Full

2049

President of the Jamaica Football federation, Michael Ricketts, was happy to report that the Reggae Girlz have been paid in full monies owed to them from the France 2019 World Cup campaign.

The Girlz had threatened to withhold their services if they didn’t receive in full what was contractually owed to them.

The JFF had paid the Girlz half of what they were owed.

The federation then promised they would receive the balance at the end of the month, when FIFA is scheduled to pay over the prize money to the federation for the country’s participation in the tournament.

Ricketts says they have not receive the prize money from Fifa, but were able to source the funding to pay the players.

The Reggae Girlz are set to contest the Olympic Qualifiers from September 30 to October 8.

The Girlz are drawn in group “B”.

They are joined by Cuba, St. Lucia, Barbados and the US Virgin Islands.

Ricketts says the federation is trying its best to field the strongest team.
