Riverton Residents Could Put Up Independent Candidate Local Polls

A member of the Riverton Community Association, Patrick Clarke, says he’s contemplating running as an independent candidate for the Riverton Meadows Division in the upcoming Local Government election.

Mr. Clarke says the Division is suffering from poor representation.

Clarke is among 300 persons who’ve signed a petition calling for the PNP to remove Parish Councilor, Hazel Anderson, as its candidate.

Mr. Clarke says the issues facing Riverton Meadows are longstanding.

Mr. Clarke says he has spoken with both Miss Anderson and Member of Parliament for Western St. Andrew Anthony Hylton about the issues. But he says no favorable intervention has been received.

Efforts to contact MP Hylton and Councilor Harris were unsuccessful.
