Ruddy Spencer Dismisses Talk of Retiring from Representational Politics

Member of Parliament for South East Clarendon, the JLP’s, Rudyard Spencer, is rejecting what he says are vicious rumours that he’ll be leaving representational politics before the next General Elections.

Last week Sunday, the Gleaner newspaper said Mr. Spencer is to make way for a young politician who’s a confidant of Prime Minister and JLP Leader, Andrew Holness.

But speaking with our news centre yesterday – Mr. Spencer says he intends to contest the next General Election.

Mr. Spencer is also the State Minister of Public Service in the Finance Ministry. He says he welcomes the announcement that the woman who he defeated in the 2016 General Election, Patricia Duncan Sutherland, will be the PNP’s candidate again.
