The National Works Agency, NWA, is advising motorists that effective Saturday, January 27, the section of Spanish Town Road in the vicinity of Industrial Terrace and the Denham Town Police Station will be reduced to single lane traffic.
This is to facilitate the installation of a metal grating over a drain which crosses the road.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw, says the works will be carried out in two phases.
The westbound lane heading towards Three Miles will be closed first after which the eastbound lane heading towards downtown, Kingston will be closed to facilitate the planned works.
The lane restrictions are expected to last for three weeks.
The works form part of the NWA’s ongoing drainage improvement programme.
Ten million dollars is being spent on replacing or repairing manhole covers, damaged gratings, or grating covers in six locations across the Corporate Area.
