The matter involving security guard, Shawn Cole, who is before the courts for killing well-known Hampton and Munro College teacher Haile Clacken is set to go to trial.
Cole is before the courts for shooting Mr. Clacken in the face at close range on June 23 last year in Cheapside in the parish.
The prominent teacher who suffered from bipolar disorder was reportedly shot by Cole after he hopped onto a Guardsman truck.
When Cole appeared in the Santa Cruz parish court this week, it was determined that there was sufficient evidence for the case to be committed to the Circuit Court. Cole is to be tried for murder.
The murder trial is to begin in the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court on February 26. In June, the police said they had at least seven eyewitnesses in the case.
