The Senate on Friday approved a bill which proposes to transfer responsibility for the country’s special economic zones, SEZ, from the Industry Ministry to the Office of the Prime Minister.
Opposition Senators, including Wentworth Skeffrey expressed concern about the bill.
Senator Skeffrey argued that the Office of the Prime Minister, OPM may have taken on too many portfolio responsibilities.
Government Senator, CEO of Grace Kennedy and Chairman of JAMPRO, Don Wehby rejected Senator Skeffrey’s argument.
The bill was approved in the House of Representatives on Tuesday.
