Senior Official at Tax Office Arrested in Anti-Corruption Raid


A senior official at the tax office in Constant Spring in St. Andrew is among three persons who are now in custody following an operation today by the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency, MOCA.

MOCA says the probe is also linked to tax irregularities and the suspicious issuance of a number of drivers licenses.

It’s understood senior male employee detained is assigned to the drivers license section at the Constant Spring tax office.

MOCA also seized documents and personal items belonging to the employee of Tax Administration Jamaica.

As part of the same investigation investigators from MOCA also seized  1-hundred rounds of  ammunition at a property in St. Thomas.

The persons detained are to be questioned by the Police.
