Set for the JTA/Sagicor National Athletics Champs


The best 90 athletes from each parish will be on show at the Two-day JTA/Sagicor National Athletics Championships, at the National Stadium, beginning on June 2.

St. Andrew will be seeking their 3rd straight hold on the trophy. Colin Spence is the chairman of the National Sports Committee.

Sagicor Foundation has retained their role as title sponsor for the Championship by contributing over $6-million towards the staging of the event. Two, five-year secondary level academic scholarships will also be provided through the Foundation for the 2017 Champion Boy and Champion Girl.

Student athletes, ages 6 to 17 years, from over 800 schools will be competing for the title of Parish Champion. As in previous years, the first day of Championship remains free to the public while on Saturday, the final day of the meet will attract a low entrance fee of $200 for adults and $100 for children under 12.
