Shadow Housing Minister Says Portfolio Languishing Under PM Holness

Shadow Minister for Housing, Dr Morais Guy during his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in parliament yesterday afternoon said the Housing Portfolio is languishing under the Prime Minister who also functions as Housing Minister.

He listed a number of areas he says are being impacted by the alleged inertia in the Housing portfolio to include the National Housing Trust strategic review which he says is yet to be debated.

Dr Guy is cautioning the Holness administration in it’s use of funds from the NHT in assisting with the building and refurbishing of police stations and infirmaries.

He’s also calling on the NHT to commission a study into the relationship between increased benefit allocation and the rising price of housing in Jamaica.
