Shaw Pleased That CDB is Willing to Fund Creation of JSEs Across the Caribbean


Former Finance Minister Audley Shaw is welcoming the announcement by the Caribbean Development Bank to provide funding to create several Junior Stock Exchanges around the region, modeled off Jamaica’s successful junior market.

The Junior Stock Exchange was established in 2009 by Mr. Shaw while he was Finance Minister.

So far Trinidad & Tobago’s Finance Minister,Colm Imbert has said they’re willing to take the CDB’s recommendation on board.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shaw reiterated the government’s intention to also establish a micro stock exchange.

Mr. Shaw says the micro stock exchange would help in formalising more small businesses.
