Shaw Urges Banks to Cut Rates

Finance Minister Audley Shaw is calling on banks and other lending institutions to reduce their interest rates.

Interest rates at some lending institutions are more than 15-percent. Mr. Shaw says interest rates should not exceed six percent.

The Minister says overall, interest rates are trending down.

Audley Shaw was speaking last evening at the launch of investment firm Sygnus in New Kingston.
